No account, by design

There is no sign-up. You install Cash Book, set up a few tags in onboarding, and log. No email, no password, no verification code, no profile to fill in. Purchases go through Apple, so the trial and the plan never ask for a Cash Book login either.

That is not a missing feature. Without an account there is no Cash Book server holding your transaction history, nothing to be leaked and nothing to be sold. The app stores your log on your iPhone, and the only copy anywhere else is the one you choose to make in your own iCloud.

iCloud sync, on your terms

Settings has a single iCloud Sync toggle. Turn it on and your data is encrypted and stored privately in your own iCloud account, where only you can access it. Get a new iPhone, sign into the same Apple account, install Cash Book, and the whole log is there. Turn it off and the data stays on the device alone.

Sync is the whole of Cash Book's cloud story. There is no web version to sign into and no sharing with other people's phones, because both would mean a copy of your money somewhere that is not yours.

What leaves the phone, and what does not

Two features need a connection. Voice logging sends the audio clip, and receipt scanning sends the photo, through the studio's relay to an AI model that turns it into transactions. Nothing is stored after the response comes back. The transactions themselves are written on your iPhone.

Cash Book never connects to a bank. Even Apple Pay auto-logging runs entirely on the phone through Apple's Shortcuts, with no bank login involved. Usage analytics count feature use in aggregate, such as which screens are opened, and never include transaction contents, audio or photos. There are no ads, no data selling, and no requests for contacts or location.

Locked, exportable, erasable

Settings has a Security section where Face ID or Touch ID locks the app, so a borrowed phone does not mean a shared ledger. Data Export writes everything to CSV or Excel for a spreadsheet, an accountant or simply a backup you hold. Data Management erases all of it in one place when you want a clean start.
